Approaching the issues on land rights in a different way was the goal for ICCO and partner Instituto para el Desarrollo Rural de Sudamérica (IPDRS) by starting the ‘Movimiento por la Tierra’ in South America. Together they launched a platform with the aim to collect 1000 cases that are examples of good practices with regard to land issues.
A modest communal house has become a training location for a group of 40 inactive gang members of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) in the community of La Selva, city of Ilopango, 12.5 km east from San Salvador, El Salvador. These former gang members between 13 and 32 years old receive training to manage a small poultry farm that allow them to gain some income and stay away from violence.
